Ia Shvangiradze graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili State University, Faculty of Law in 1986.

From 1986 to 1994 she worked as a lawyer for various public and private organizations.

From 1994 to 1999 she was a lawyer in Kutaisi.

From 1993 to 2012, except for her professional activities, she was actively involved in pedagogical activities. Ia was a lecturer at the Kutaisi Secular Institute "Gelati", later a lecturer at the Humanitarian-Economic Institute and an associate professor in the field of civil law. She is a participant of many conferences and has published numerous monographs on the issues of old Georgian law and civil procedural law.

In 1999 she passed the qualification exams for judges with general specialization and in the same year she was appointed a judge of the Kutaisi District Court. She was chairman of the Civil, Entrepreneurial and Bankruptcy Chamber of the same court. Twice was elected as a member of the Disciplinary Board of Common Law.

He was an expert in civil, administrative, entrepreneurial and constitutional law as part of the Judicial Training Center and the Tacis Judicial Training Project.

Ia was a Civil Procedure Law Trainer as part of a project by the American Bar Association. Within the same project she is the author of the first bar exams in civil procedural law (2003).

She has passed dozens of trainings in civil, administrative, corporate law with the participation of both Georgian and foreign experts, including under the guidance of American experts on media and public relations and the involvement of Georgian media.

Also, she is a lawyer specializing in juvenile justice and child rights (civil) and a mentor lawyer.

Since January 2018, she has been the Chairman of the Imereti Regional Civic Committee. In order to share professional practice within the activities of the Committee, it is the initiator of a number of joint discussions and field meetings, which contributes to the professional development and rapprochement of the members of the Corporation.

She has been an Arbitrator of the Permanent “Arbitration House” since 2020.
